Introduction to Production Activity Control

PRODUCTION ACTIVITY CONTROL (PAC)

Production activity control is used for executing the master production schedule and the material requirement plan.

PAC can be classified to : - planning, implementation, and control production

PLANNING

• -          The flow of work through each of the work that must be planned to meet lead time
• -          The company also need to have availibity to manufacture the components when needed

IMPLEMENTATION

Once the plans are made, the production activity must put them in action by advising the shop for what must be done :

• -          The company need to gather the information to make the product
• -          Then, release order as authorized by the material require plan

CONTROL

When the plans are made and the shop order released, the process must be monitored to learn what is happening. Then, the company must compared to the plan whether corrective action is necessary :

The company need to :

• -          Rank the shop
• -          Track the actual performance of work and compared to planned schedule
• -          Monitor and control the plan
• -          Report
